Kicker outboard attached to rudder

Post by Head injuries »

Hi all
I am fitting a Tiller pilot to Head Injuries and part of this will be a quick release attachment connecting the outboard to the rudder box
I have the design %70 sorted but have had not much joy researching the geometry on the internet of all things
Has anyone done a similar job and could give me some mathematical time saving tips as to the basic formular that allows for full lock of the outboard matching full lock of the Tiller both port and starboard
And pictures tell a thousand words

Regards
Murray

Welcome to TSP! (I see you snuck in quietly last year, but hey, it's your second post)

Some say there is nothing new under the sun. Certainly your question has come around before.

A year later, a diagram of a system used on a Hartley 16, but note the discussion about pivot locations for rudder and outboard:

Azamagnum had a pic posted of the arm from rudderbox to motor. Key was a bend in either end to allow lock.
