Another introduction...
My name is Simon. I live in the Jervis Bay area and have just recently parked a Griffin 17 in the back yard.
I am very excited to get the girl onto Jervis Bay but unfortunately the old girl needs a spruce up, and registration. I am a boating newbie, so I have started the project off by buying some fibreglass boat building books. This is going to take some time.
I will be hanging around the forum regularly. I don’t usually say much, but I doo listen and learn, so I probably won’t make many posts.

Welcome to you. We shall see how long it takes for you to either ask a question or resist making a smart answer to a post.
Enjoy the Griffin restoration and keep us posted of the progress, with pics if possible.

Registration of Vessels (in NSW)
A person must be at least 16 years of age to register a vessel in NSW. Registrations are granted on an annual basis and the following vessels must be registered with Maritime when occupying NSW navigable waters:
The Griffin should be under 5.5 metres and if you haven't already got a larger outboard, 5hp is ample. You will however need to register it if you come down to Mallacoota or Gippsland, in Victoria

G'day Simon,
Hows the Griffin rebuild going??
I'm fairly close to putting mine back on the water 9next couple of weeks), and has been a good project to play with although it did take longer than planned and I did do more on it than planned.....

For what it's worth, Simon has only posted once and it was nearly 5 years ago.
