Looking to buy my first TS

Post by Grent » Dec 24th, '14, 17:23

Hi All,

Been browsing this site a few days now, researching different trailer sailers. So much information on here - its been incredibly useful!
Previously I've only sailed dinghies, and even with those I'm pretty green.

I'm looking for something that I could either take my mates and/or the kids out for a cruise with a spot of basic fishing, or take the family away overnight for a bit of a getaway. (Moreton Bay, QLD)

I've been looking at B20s, Sunmaids, and most recently an Austral 20. Definitely want something that I can beach and go ashore if I find a nice spot for a lazy afternoon on the shore.

Still open to suggestions, of course, but the limitation will be my towing capacity at 1800kgs or my budget $10k max but hopefully under $8000.

Cheers

Yes that's a stunner for sure. Hoping I can convince Coops to put it back up for sale.

I have just got all the brightwork sanded right back and ready now for varnishing, so we will enjoy the fruits of my labour, bitter and sour that they may be, :D for a while. Give me a few months and thoughts will turn to bigger boats again and I may be tempted to part with her once more. You just never know what may happen when the mop flops.

Coops.
