Victoria, BC, Canada

Post by OzCanuck » Sep 28th, '07, 06:28

After living in Canada for the past six years my family are planning on moving back to Melbourne in early 2008.

Currently living in beautiful Victoria, BC, Canada ... great sailing all around, but the water is COLD and, while it doesn't get as cold here as it does in other parts of "the Great White North", we're missing the Aussie warmth.

When we get back we'll be looking at getting a trailer sailer ... currently leaning towards a Seaway 25, but obviously it depends on what's available.

Canuck,

You're in a good positon to consider bringing one back with you IMO.

Cheers

Yeah, I've been looking into that ... seems about the only maxi TY that'll fit in a shipping container is a MacGregor.

I'd love to bring back a Balboa 26 or 27, but at 8' the beam is 3-7/8" to big to get into a shipping container.

Can anyone think of a largish TY available in Canada or USA (for much less than they're worth in Aus) with a beam no greater than 7' 8-1/8"???

Am I right in thinking that the only feasible way of getting a TY back to Aus is in a container?

Thanks,
J.
