Photos in old posts

Some of my old posts list attached photos, but when you click on the listing, some arrow icons appear, but no photo. Please explain? Exceeded my allocation? When it is reference material it would be useful if pics could be retained.

Ian,
You can also place those pics into the Album which is accessed from the home page.

There is an Auto-prune function which has been activated to removed posts older than one year.
If you want you can let one of us know and we can move the post into an archive area.

Usually I place images on my own domain and link to them, but sometimes if I only have one image I get lazy and do them as attached files; I hadn't realised they had a limited life.

It also may be because we have had a couple of system host changes?
Pruning of old posts is only on the For Sale area.

This issue raises a number of discussion points. IMHO there are two types of post- the technical ones and the chatty ones. Fair enough the chatty ones get old and irrelevant, and maybe should be culled. When it comes to posts in areas like "Trailer Sailer Types" this is a reference area, and data and photos of a particular type of boat is referred to regularly. If these posts and pics can be retained, they will form a usefull database for members.

The other area is technical discussions. Topics on the general principles of sail and rudder balance, for example, pop up regularly. Here it would be useful just to be able to link to an old post, rather than writing the whole story again.
