I assume it can't be trailered but ad does mention shallow keel.

$3500 for a fairly clean looking 25' yacht seems cheap ?

Ive been keeping an eye on this one for a while. Seems like he wants to sell it, dropped from 5k. Id definitely be getting a survey before buying it. Not sure on anything else about it though.

I can't find anything much on the nesscraft tagi. Did they have a swing/shoal keel ? ie could it be trailered ?

I guess if it's 22' rather than 25'...

In Queensland, car's no longer have rego stickers so DTMR give you a search facility for you to check. So I searched the rego number on the stern from the photo. I didn't know whether it would work until I gave it a go... The system doesn't care if you're searching for a boat!

VicRoads has a "pay your rego" facility, but if the rego isn't due in the next couple of months it doesn't tell you very much, just:
  • There is no payment due on the registration. Contact VicRoads 13 11 71 for more information, if required.
  • The registration number that you've entered does not match our records. Please check and try again. If you are unable to proceed, please contact Vicroads on 13 11 71.
  • Please contact Vicroads on 13 11 71. (If the rego number corresponds to a stolen vehicle)

If the reg IS due soon, it gives a full description of the vehicle, the expiry date, and the amount owing, eg:
Registration number: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Vehicle type: CAR / TRUCK
Make: MAZDA
Year of manufacture: 2012
Body type: UTIL
Colour: WHITE

But for a boat, the info may not be very helpful:
Registration number: CA610 $87.40
Vehicle type: BOAT
Make: UNKNWN
Year of manufacture: 1900
Body type: TRASAI
Colour:
Current expiry date: 14 Sep 2018
Registration period: 12 MONTHS
Next expiry date: 14 Sep 2019

It seems that I need to pay $87.40 next week to re-register my transparent 118 year old UNKNWN TRASAI!

THAT is hilarious! :D Thank you for the laugh.

I have sms'd the seller and sent a message via gumtree. No response.

No mystery why it hasn't sold....at this point I'm giving up.
