So I'm drifting out of Paynesville wondering why the noelex feels so tippy....the keel was still up!
Them I'm wondering why there is so much glare coming off the water...hmmm...the sunnies might help.

So now I'm wondering what else I missed today...

I'm blaming the 4 week gap - there's something unnatural about going that long without a sail!

Sun? What sun?
It's been raining steadily all night here and still going, what a miserable depressing day and I have a driveway to fix when the rain stops which at this point could be about February.

Yeah, willy weather promsed rain but mrs weather wasn't listening.

Willy also promised 5-10 knts but mrs weather just threw a hissy fit and decided 20 might be a better idea. With a BIG drop in temperature.

So a cafe lunch and then I'll decide which jacket to wear.

I had actually intended to come down and do some gardening but our unit had been booked out without it showing up on the agents website...so I don't feel at all guilty about relaxing on the boat today

It's OK Paul, it happens more frequently as you get older. Last weekend I wanted to replace the tube on my wheel burrow. I'd done that many times in the past, but this time around that Bl..dy tire just would not go on. I bent tools and almost got clobbered in the head by the lever as I pressed down on it; but no it was not going on. I drove over the tyre with my little car but no it would not go on. Finally I went looking for my crowbar. Went to the shed, looked, disgusting mess  (Note to myself, "I need to clean this up.") Went walking around the yard. I walked to the car and back several times past Wanton parked there in front of the gate. Looking; not seeing anything. That was Saturday. I wasted all afternoon practicing different languages  but no, no crowbar. I did not know I knew how to speak so many languages until last Saturday.

On Sunday, I decided to try once more, bent different tools and finally gave up in disgust. Such was my despair, I went to have a chat with Wanton parked in front of that same gate I walked through a dozen times on Saturday. Bl--dy hell, there against the wall was my bright blue crowbar. Now how the heck did I miss that? Five minutes later the tyre was on and pressurized and on the wheel burrow. Now all I had to do was find my stand up shovel. I did after walking past it several times.

Paul you are a learned man, my ex wife used to call it domestic blindness. Is there such a disease? Is there a cure?

Hi All,

A long time ago when I was young, I did have many hobbies and sports and different one in different time of the year.

In summer I played football and in winter I played ice hockey. In bad weather I made models of planes and boats.

In good weather I flied them outside.

This way I never get bored and always enjoyed change. And same I apply with my sailing.

I sail in summer, and we use to play golf and ski on Mt Baw Baw in winter.

Some time we did sail in Queensland in the past.

So I never get bored of one activity, only house maintenance is a drag.

Now I am looking forward to sail on Cup day, that will be the end of winter hibernation.

Regards Frank

Yeah Frank. That is the BTYC Opening Sail weekend from Paynesville. Hope to see you at the pub the night before for a great chat and to catch up with what you'd been up to. I will have to get started on some last minute maintenance (nothing serious) to get the boat and trailer OK to go. It seems I cannot miss that particular sail without causing Shock, Horror and a Great Scandal..

I have performed tasks like Wanton, need A CERTAIN SIZE SCREW AND i KNOW i HAVE A PACK OF 10 somewhere, spent an hour looking but to no avail so go to Bunnies and buy a pack as I cannot buy one, put screw on and put remainder away in a drawer next to the other pack I couldn't find.
I suspect my wife and Paul's may be related as she uses the same terminology.

Ed, I hate to tell you this but most wheel barrow wheels are split rim design, just undo the 4 bolts holding the rim together and then there is no pushing and pulling

Oh how I wish mine is a split wheel design. Unfortunately mine is solid plastic type and a real pain in the behind as the wheel flexes when trying to get the last bit of the tyre on it.

I reckon that screw drivers have invisible legs that they use to hide themselves away. Go looking for a screwdriver. I swear I just put that over there. But it somehow moves itself. Yep I know what that is like too.

Maybe you should all try walking around, cursing wife and kids for not putting shifter back where it belongs, then realise you have been carrying it around the whole time.
I did this when I was much younger, so definitely due to stupidity, not age.
Cheers
Phil

My tool nightmare starts with one of my little helpers who has a penchant for shiny things like spanners and sockets which usually get carted outside or under what ever I am working on.

Speaking of screwdrivers in wrong places ....my little helper once decided to let the magic smoke out with a screwdriver. The motorbike was NOT happy!
