The issue of cleaning up old posts has not arisen yer. The site is only 3 months old - so there are not many really old posts yet.

In other forums either the admin or a topic moderator is responsible for maintaining the posts. So at some stage we will have to do the same sort of thing. This is not to stop anybody deleting their own posts.

Personally (and this is only my view) i think the admin or moderator would delete all the "comment" posts - and leave the valuable info posts behind. This way you can still search for the info later and gain the collective knowledge of some of the smartest TS people around.

Cheers
Simon

I agree
Out of date and uniformative posts should be auto delete to save us having to trawl the whole forum

Hmmm, yes, well, thanks ...

Why do you have to remove old posts? The posts on the MSN forum seem to go back to day one, there's nearly 30,000 of 'em.

Unless there's a size limit on this thing, I reckon you should keep all posts.

THe issue of old posts is being discussed at admin level. Some posts are only simply online chat (like most of mine), where as others are excellent sources of information (Chemazki).

At the moment space is not an issue. Posts do not take up much space, what takes up space is the pictures people post to the forum (a better option is to use the http://www.tinypic.com option).

In the future when the space fills up there will be 2 options. Either pay more money for more space, or clean out some of the older non informative posts.
