Re: Adhesive to suit wood to wood

Double sided butyl rubber tape? Will not contaminate the wood like silicon will. It is removable and does not age / go hard. Sorry I am a bit of a fan of the stuff :-) yes me too.....been repairing caravans for 30 years and find the rubber tape fantastic if you squeeze two bits together. I use it f...

Macgregors use a CDI Furler generally, the they have a flexible blade that can be rolled up furler blade.jpg This is a cross section, not sure if yours is the same If so a Macgregor sized blade is available through Blue Water Yachts in Seattle http://shop.bwyachts.com/product-p/3602-110.htm or ther...

Re: Broken furler track...

Still learning Trailer Sailers :-)......I have seen Furlers without the track going up the mast . My understanding they have the forestay sewn into the sail? and a swivel on top of the mast so the forestay turns and furls the foresail? So If I buy one of those furlers like the Ronstan RF1246 and get...

Reiner, the cdi manual indicates there's a 6 year replacement warranty - it might be worth contacting them if yours is that young? https://static1.squarespace.com/static/57a94d9febbd1a5a5122da58/t/57ed7d97e58c62512873930e/1475181981640/FF1+manual.pdf Failing that, the design looks similar to my old...

Re: extra long shaft outboard...

The boat is in the right spot on the trailer and I could easily carry the extra weight at the back but my transom has a few stress cracks and I don't want to travel with the motor bouncing off the back. I also have the hight adjustable motor bracket. I start the motor ( long shaft) and than drop it ...

Not long ago I bought a brand new 3.5hp Tohatsu long shaft 20'. After we been using it for a while I learned you can get a longer shaft (25') but not in a small motor I like. The smallest I could find was a 6hp Tohatsu. I carry my motor on the front of the trailer so weight is a bit important. My tr...

We are looking for the best spot near Brisbane to camp and sail. We are a bit spoiled after camping and Sailing on Myall lakes and Lake King in Paynesville. We hope we can find a spot near Brisbane where we can leave the boat in the water right near the campsite.

So Reiner, which of your fleet of boats are you towing around the country? And what decides the choice? We took the Sanibel 18 with us mainly because it has a bigger cabin and a better trailer. Plus we just got a new MPS for the Sanibel and wanted to play with that. The Secret still needs a bit of ...

I would love to not drown the trailer. I have had a talk to Dunbier and got quoted $6500 for a multi roller trailer. I am tempted to go that way . I just need to be sure I am happy with the boat to spend that sort of money. I am towing with a 3000kg Landcruiser and have no problem stopping without b...
