Did John end up in Paynesville? Was he the guy that mentored a heap of Sabre sailors out of Paynesville?

Best beach bars by boat .... go :)

So when we say 'gone sailing' it's kinda just code for pottering around looking for the next amazing watering hole by the water. Found this pearler today .. opened Jan 17 McLarens tiki bar - South Straddie - just North of Tipplers. What's your favourite? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170416/865...

Money's worth

Replaced a deck organizer today, estimate this one was on the Spinner for 30+ years .. so I'm pretty sure we got our money's worth. Any other good tales?? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170414/6230f45d99c83c99c5bdad576bc7e29c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170414/dbb94a33fd4249840d0bac8f...

Re: Boat insurance

I also use PIB broker.

Insured for $20k $380
No breakdown on equipment
Didn't need a survey

We pay an excess $150 cruising or $350 if damage happens while racing.

Extremely helpful office staff :)

Gold Coast - can you suggest places to visit in TS

Hi all,

So where are your favorite spots??

Looking to head down to the Gold Coast on the weekend.
Can any locals suggest a secure place to launch & keep trailer (happy to pay fee).

What are the best places to visit?
Suggested itinerary 5-7 days

Thanks
Kate

Re: Cabin doors

We use same set up with
Perspex - can't see in, offers some visibility out while keeping cabin darkened - definitely use in rough weather- bottom and top storm board that can be locked.

Re: What type of Deck organiser is this and where do I buy?

Hi all,

I've just been reading this 2014 thread - and we are looking at replacing the sheaves in the same deck organiser units.

We have bought the turning sheaves from Muir's.
Can anyone recommend a machine shop in Brisbane that might be able to do the work?
We are in Tarragindi.

cheers

Hi all,

Looking to invest in a personal PLB for sailing and hiking adventures.

Has anyone got feedback on the FindMeSpot device? Pros and cons.

Re: Whale watching off the Gold Coast

You would have a hard time avoiding them in Moreton Bay Brissie at the moment. We had 4 pods around us on 2/10 as we were heading back to the Manly ramp - just off St Helena island. And we had further sighting off Dunich and as far south as just off Raby Bay. Quite wonderful really :) Sent from my i...

Re: How does CBH translate to sailing around Moreton Bay?

For us, cruising on Moreton Bay is all about working with the tides and weather forecast. We have a Sonata7 with a 8HP. All things being equal if motor sailing - Pushing tide into wind speed over ground 2-3 knots. Full throttle 5-6 lt petrol consumption / hr With the tide, wind on the beam 5-7 knots...

Camplify.com.au is the AirBnB for caravans and campers.

A great site for trying different styles of vans.

We're off to Carnarvon Gorge in 3 weeks :)
