Re: Volcano restoration

Wow Geoff. Been away working on Kimantez for (what seems like months) and still nothing as beautiful as Volcano to show for my efforts... I'm thrilled to see she is finished - never doubted it would happen, and yes - speaking as a fellow Seaway owner - maybe you can see why we've now held on to ours...

Can you help me identify the brand of these Jammers?

Hi Guys. My Seaway25 came with these jammers already fitted - I don't know if they were original equipment or not, but I suspect not. The Port-side Jammer needs new levers but before I can investigate availability, I need to know what BRAND they are. I'm guessing they are 20+ years old. Do you recog...

I can now say for certainty that most of you... (us) are completely crackers, and it would appear the Friday Night Funnies have returned...

Re: Solar AA Battery Question

The new 'colour changing' LED solar garden lights... cycle through blue, red, green, yellow continually... when the red and green cycles are on, you can't tell if your boat is coming, going or cruising around... Makes people moving around at night in unlit dinghies swerve all over the place to avoi...

Re: Boom too low.

Coops. The Seaway25 is an IOR rated yacht, so typically has a "droopy boom". When we took ownership of ours, the main had a bolt rope along both the mast & boom. After the first season, we had the main re-cut, slugs fitted to the luff and the foot set free and the clew lifted about 12" (from memory)...

Hi Simon. Yes - quite confronting to see a stark message that my account had been suspended... (And I couldn't think why...) Re: Embarassing question number... I forget!

Hi Marie.
P=IV.
Power (watts) = I (amps) x V (volts)
So in your problem, Amps (0.7) x Volts (220) = 154 Watts. (a pretty powerful light bulb).

Hi Traylee There is a veritable plethora of information about mast-raising in the forum... Zebedee has a thread running at the moment about how he's developing a system to raise his mast solo... http://www.trailersailerplace.com.au/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8397&p=87746&hilit=mast#p87746 And there...

Hi Lockie. Our girl has Teak toe rails and when we bought it, the PO advised they'd only ever used a product called Deks Olje. Never heard of the stuff back then. Goes on like water - needs about 7 coats, but does come up nice on all the woodwork. There might be easier/ better out there, but I've ne...

Since our 6 weeks in the Whitsundays in 2006, we have typically sailed: Cup weekend (4 days) Christmas (7-10 days) Australia day w/e (3 days) Labour day w/e (3 days) (also Marlay point) Easter (4-5 days) Anzac w/e (4 days) Then pull boat for the "colder months" per the Admiral. 26-29 days a year... ...

And moving on with Graham's boy-in-the-bathtub analogy (which I think is excellent!) - The rate the boy slides back and forth is fixed. (the frequency your radio is attempting to transmit on). Now, as Graham said, if the bathtub LENGTH is just right, then the waves get to the end of the bathtub and ...
